Counselling and Psychotherapy
Counselling and psychotherapy provide a supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a way that makes sense to you. While these terms are often used interchangeably, counselling tends to focus more on present concerns and immediate support, whereas psychotherapy explores deeper patterns that may stem from past experiences, including trauma.
In our work together, we use evidence-based approaches to unpack what you are experiencing. You do not need to have a clear goal or know exactly what is wrong. Sometimes, just speaking things aloud and having someone truly listen can be the first step towards clarity.
A typical session is a conversation, but one with purpose and depth. We explore your current challenges, how they impact you, and what might be contributing beneath the surface. Over time, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, such as people pleasing, perfectionism, or emotional suppression. We look at the beliefs you hold about yourself and the world, and whether those beliefs are serving you or limiting you.

For clients with trauma, this work helps in making sense of past events and how they continue to affect your present. We might look at how you respond to stress, how safe you feel in your relationships, or how connected you are to your emotions. Understanding these elements creates space for change.
This process is collaborative. You are always in the driver’s seat, and my role is to walk beside you, offering insights, reflections, and tools. Some sessions might be focused on talking, others might include somatic awareness or guided reflection. The aim is to help you feel more in control of your life, more at peace within yourself, and more connected in your relationships.
